CDAA Annual General Meeting 2018
The Canadian Dental Assistants’ Association (CDAA) is a national not-for-profit organization that has supported dental assistants and advocated on oral health for over 70 years. As a non-profit organization, we are managed by a Board of Directors who are volunteers that donate their time and expertise to both the Association and to their profession. The CDAA is funded through membership fees received from our provincial member associations and through sponsorships. Without the generous support of our sponsors, CDAA would not be able to continue to support the profession of dental assisting. Sponsorship allows our Association to improve the dental assisting profession across Canada.
As a valued member of the oral healthcare team, dental assistants provide important support to the oral health care team and dental office while ensuring patients have a safe and positive experience throughout their visit.
A trained, professional dental assistant ensures that a patient’s safety is the number one priority throughout treatments by maintaining proper infection control in the dental office; assists dentists with intra-oral procedures; ensures patients have a positive experience; assists with the daily operations and contributes substantially to the long-term success of the dental office. A positive work environment coupled with a highly-trained team of oral health professionals, including dental assistants, are all factors that contribute to a successful practice.
