In April 2001 the CDAA held its first ever bylaw congress to
redefine our association as a federation representing the interests of approximately 20, 000 dental assistants
across Canada. Volunteer dental assistants from all provinces participated, sharing their aspirations for our
profession and our national association. The congress resulted in a unanimous embracing of a future with equal
representation from all Corporate Members as well as a voice for our Individual Members through the national election of our President. Canadian dental assistants will be able to enjoy the ultimate results of prior ambitions from those who gave their time and energy during this congress.
There are unlimited possibilities within the structure of the CDAA. We ask that all dental assistants explore, create, and embrace our common future to ensure that our growth continues. These bylaws are the beginning of that growth. We value the
history of the CDAA and we commit to strengthening our bonds across Canada
Our strength and aspirations are an important part of reaching our goals.
