AWARDS & RECOGNITION PROGRAM

 MARCH 2015 ~ 

Marion Edwards Achievement Award

(Sponsored by TD Insurance Meloche Monnex in 2017)

Description:  Established in 1982 and named for CDAA’s inaugural President, an organization must have provided exemplary leadership in increasing the awareness and recognition of the dental assisting profession throughout the year by significantly advancing or supporting a current initiative.  “Applicant” is defined as an organization.

Nomination Process:  candidates must be nominated in writing by the Awards Committee, CDAA Board Director, Organizational Member or stakeholder group.  Awards Committee recommends successful candidate to CDAA Board for approval.

Award Format:

  1.  framed certificate to the recipient organization;
  2. monetary donation made by a corporate sponsor to the Penny Waite Fund in the recipient organization’s name with the express        purpose to be used in advancing research supporting the dental assisting profession;
  3. recipient organization’s name displayed on CDAA website and Facebook page

 

Betty Copp Achievement Award

Description: Instituted in 1995 to recognize the outstanding achievements made by past CDAA President, Ms. Betty (Copp) Daniels.  Given to a CDAA current or past Board member, committee member or volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the CDAA.  The nominee must have served on the CDAA Board of Directors and demonstrated leadership, vision, commitment, integrity, justice, patience, persistence, humility and courage.  Their dedication must have superseded individual interest and personal gain, has inspired and motivated others and represented the Association with dignity and in a highly professional manner.

Nomination Process: candidates must be nominated in writing by the Awards Committee, CDAA Board Director, Organizational Member or stakeholder group.  Awards Committee recommends successful candidate to CDAA Board for approval.

Award Format:

  1. framed certificate to recipient
  2. recipient’s name displayed on CDAA website and Facebook page

 

Mary Fullerton Certificate of Merit

Description: Created in 1985, this award is presented to the Organizational Member that has shown exemplary leadership in promoting the CDAA by (but not limited to): actively championing and sharing with their members the work CDAA is doing at the national level, partnering with CDAA wherever possible to move the profession forward, working collaboratively with CDAA to implement innovation and change.   

Nomination Process: candidates must be nominated in writing by the Awards Committee, CDAA Board Director, Organizational Member or stakeholder group.  Awards Committee recommends successful candidate to CDAA Board for approval.

Award Format:  

  1.  framed certificate to the recipient organization baring their name;
  2. organization’s name displayed on CDAA website and Facebook page

 

Award of Excellence

(Sponsored by PROLINK Insurance in 2017)

Description: This award was presented by the CDAA to honor an organizational member that is exemplary in its development of activities, to profile dental assistants and dental assisting during Dental Assistants’ Recognition Week.  To qualify a CDAA Organizational Member will have provided educational and social opportunities to members and/or colleagues that promote the Dental Assistant and dental assisting profession to the public and other stakeholder groups during the specific days of Dental Assistants Week.

Nomination Process: candidates must be nominated in writing by the Awards Committee, CDAA Board Director, Organizational Member or stakeholder group.  Awards Committee recommends successful candidate to CDAA Board for approval.

Award Format:

  1.  framed certificate to the recipient organization;

CDAA President’s Commendation Award

Description: This award was presented by the CDAA President to an organization, stakeholder or individual that, in the opinion of the current CDAA President, is deserving of special recognition for their contribution to the advancement of the CDAA and the profession of dental assisting.

Nomination Process: candidates must be nominated in writing by the presiding CDAA President.  Presidential Commendations must be approved by the Awards Committee.

Award Format:

  1. a certificate baring the name of the organization, stakeholder or individual;
  2. recipient’s name displayed on CDAA website and Facebook page

  

CDAA Certificate of Appreciation

Description: Created in 2001, these certificates recognize deserving     organizations/companies/stakeholders who are not members but have contributed to the success, promotion and advancement of CDAA objectives. 

Nomination Process: Candidates name and pertinent information is submitted to the Awards Committee. The Awards Committee forwards successful applicant to the CDAA Board of Directors for final approval.

Award Format:
