Australian Dental Therapists may expand scope of practice
Dental therapists in Australia may soon be able to provide dental care, within their scope of practice, to patients 26 and older without the supervision of a dentist. A new educational bridging program allows dental therapist with a three year bachelor’s degree to extend their scope of practice, with eight therapists being granted permission to date.
